Beckè [pronounced 'beh-keh'] is a multidisciplinary contemporary artist, designer and social commentator with a Pan-African heart on his sleeve. He regards himself as a Neo-revolutionist and non-conformist in a sense who refuses to be clouded by trends. Beckè is a jazz enthusiast and sea lover who relishes writing.
Beckè style is an organic dilation of themes, mostly centred on race, religion, society, culture and politics. He distils varying perspectives and experiences by transforming them into very captivating and expressive pieces. Whether highlighting a poignant episode or an epic engagement, digitally or traditionally, Beckè's visual vocabulary bears much poise and allurement. His signature/ paintings are a constellation of strong silhouettes, textures, forms, colours and symbolism.
Experimentation and exploration are integral in the development of Beckè's ideas and catalogue. Beckè thrives on daily experiences as well as consistent interactions with people and habitats. He believes every idea has the potential to be the next beautiful expression or creation capable of grappling the eye of a collector. "I dream, I sketch, I paint..." - Beckè.
